Hi.

Welcome to our life as we homeschool our kids with a twist!

Amazon Fashion: The Brands (and Partnerships)You Never Knew Existed

Amazon Fashion: The Brands (and Partnerships)You Never Knew Existed

I am an Amazon Prime Member freak.  But even I just discovered that Amazon has In-House Fashion Brands and I can't believe I've never heard of them before!  I'm highlighting 10 Amazon Fashion Brands-- save yourself a trip to the mall and shop from home.  We both know you're probably on Amazon a few times a week, anyway ;)

Amazon has a slew of really great in-house/private label brands and I'm showcasing 10 of them on the blog today--these are some of the brands from Amazon's Fashion Department that you NEED to know!  They have lots of style and size variety!  #over40 #over40fashion #over40style #womensstyle #amazonfinds

Amazon Fashion In-House Labels

1.  Society New York

A beautiful sleeveless, v-neck black dress from Amazon Fashion's Society New York workwear line.  #amazonwomenclothing

Society New York is dressy workwear for the budget conscious.  They offer classic looks and offer plus-size dresses, as well.  This Women's Sleeveless Side Tie Dress would be great for work or a wedding.

I don't have a need for more formal office or workwear, but if I did, I'd be looking into Society New York.  They have accessories, too.

This tote bag is a fun twist on a more conservative design and has great reviews.  And it has that all important outer pocket--a deal breaker for most of us.  I love the neutral cognac, but it also comes in deep red and classic black.

2.  Ella Moon

image: Amazon

Ella Moon is what I would describe as casual romantic with flowy and feminine materials at a mid-range price point.  This Ella Moon Women's Everleigh Short Flutter Sleeve Lace up Top comes in five colors/patterns and costs around $60 (prices fluctuate on Amazon, so don't quote me!).

From Amazon:

"Ella Moon's collection of feminine bohemian clothing speaks to hopeless romantics and globe trotters alike. With detailed embroidery and free-wheeling fringe, Ella Moon's sundresses, peasant blouses, maxi dresses, and flowy tops boast relaxed fits and dreamy details that bring a touch of romance wherever you roam."

(read: Anthropologie dupes :)

I ended up adding two pieces from Ella Moon to my Amazon Prime Wardrobe box:  Women's Elaina Ruffled Bib Clip Dot Long Sleeve Top and this gorgeous navy blue and black Adrina Sleeveless Shift Dress, a potential option for a fall wedding.

3.  Lark & Roe

This is another workwear Amazon Fashion Exclusive brand, but Lark and Roe has casual Friday wear, casual cashmere staples, and even workout clothes.  It's described by Amazon this way:

"Bring style and confidence to your everyday wardrobe with polished essentials and wear-to-work staples...Our Collection promises clothes that complement your life, in styles you'll love season after season."  -Amazon
image: Amazon

I have a thing for polka dots and I love the easy breezy look of this Lark & Ro Women's Long Sleeve Tunic with Bell Cuff Sleeve blouse for work or a weekend brunch date!

Oh, and this gorgeous Boat Neck Top with Layered Ruffled Sleeve should have made it into my cart, but I just noticed it.  As I get nearer to my mid-40s, I'm tending to show my arms a little less.  This flowy top is a great alternative to sleeveless blouses to wear on scorching hot days.

4.   James and Erin

James and Erin is a casual clothing brand from Amazon.  I found this cute 3/4 Sleeve Handkerchief Hem Top in this strong stripe pattern that would be great with leggings for running errands, a travel day, or hanging around the house.

image: Amazon

Some of the prints don't appeal (at least in the pictures), but their basics look great.  Like this 5-star reviewed Women's Slouch Pocket Cardigan.  It looks cute, classic, lightweight, and not boxy.

5.  Paris Sunday

Work wear to casual wear, Amazon describes their exclusive fashion brand:

"Designed for the style-obsessed girl on the go, Paris Sunday delivers versatile looks from office-ready outfits to chic dinner ensembles."
image: Amazon

Paris Sunday seems to have a lot of dresses and skirts and this basic orange Paris Sunday Short Sleeve Bottom Flounce Textured Dress caught my eye.

And this Women's Midi A-Line Skirt would be so fun with white sneakers and a white t-shirt for summer.  (side note: these shoes are awful--almost all of the shoes in Amazon's Fashion shots are block heel, metallic looking sandals...which might be the latest rage, but I think they look like grandma shoes haha.)

6.  Scout and Ro

Scout and Ro is an adorable kids line from Amazon Fashion and offers boys and girls staples from babies to preteens.  Classic prints and cute colors, well-reviewed makes it an easy decision to purchase.

Adorable boat neck striped top from Scout and Ro, one of Amazon's private label fashion lines.

What kids couldn't use a striped tunic and this Scout + Ro Girls' Striped Three-Quarter Sleeve Boat-Neck Tunic Top is under $15 at the time of publishing this post!

I meant to add some kids' pieces to my Prime Wardrobe box, but I kind of went a little crazy with the women's stuff.  I'll try the kids lines soon and report back.

7.  Spotted Zebra

Spotted Zebra is another Amazon Exclusive fashion brand for kids with seriously cute prints.  I love the way they bundle their short sleeve t-shirts with different series to make them very competitive with Old Navy prices.

They offer sweatshirts, dresses, leggings, and more for toddlers on up to pre-teens.

8.  Daily Ritual

Amazon says, "It's time for better basics" and they think Daily Ritual is the solution.  The pieces have classic and elegant lines and are well reviewed.  I love the idea of this Daily Ritual Women's Rib Knit Jersey Elbow-Sleeve Boat Neck Shirt as an alternative to a regular short sleeve t-shirt.

image: Amazon

But it didn't meet my new shopping requirement of shirts needing to have some embellishment or design element that elevates it from a basic t-shirt (of which I have too many already).  So I added the Daily Ritual Women's Slouchy Pullover Top made from the same material.

I cannot wait to try this--it will be so cute with skinny jeans and loafers, or heels and it'll be a good transition piece into Fall.

9.  Goodthreads

Goodthreads is a men's tailored casual brand that has a Gap feel to it:

"Goodthreads’ collection of men’s clothing crafted with care takes wear-everywhere apparel to the next level. Create can’t-miss pairings with long- and short-sleeve button-down shirts in standard and slim fits, plus chino pants and shorts made from wrinkle-free non-iron fabric...Goodthreads is your go-to for wardrobe staples with the style you want." --Amazon
Amazon has a few men's private label fashion lines that look classic and preppy with budget-friendly prices like this blue and periwinkle checked button down.
image: Amazon

I love that they have a standard, or more relaxed/roomy fit, and a slim fit option in most of their styles.  Their 100% cotton t-shirts are very well reviewed and are under $15 (again: prices change on Amazon, so...)!

I just ordered more short sleeve cotton t-shirts for my husband from American Giant because the Hanes quality has gone down so much.  But they were double the price of these Good Threads option.

Needless to say, I just added one of the white t-shirts to my cart to have Joe give it a try.

10.  Amazon Essentials

Amazon has created a basic wardrobe of "essentials" at low prices that are "basics made better" according to them.  I have to admit, they have a great selection of basics for men, women, and kids at very low prices (and the reviews are glowing!).

This two-pack of v-neck t-shirts for under $20 would be great for working out or just for running around in the summer.

image: Amazon

And these Amazon Essentials capri leggings are dirt cheap!  It's really hard not to add them to your shopping cart at these prices (especially with the great reviews).

These prices from Amazon's Essentials line rival that of Old Navy and they're really cute.

As I was researching all of these Amazon Fashion brands, I noticed them pushing their new Amazon Prime Wardrobe--a wardrobe box delivery service that they are trying to get going.

Amazon Prime Wardrobe

Amazon Prime Wardrobe service was announced last year and opened up to Prime members in early 2018.  They are clearly trying to compete with other wardrobe subscription delivery boxes.  I'm excited to try it and I just ordered my very first box with some of the items listed above!

The difference between Amazon Prime Wardrobe and another clothing delivery service like Trunk Club or Stitch Fix is YOU pick out what goes in your box.

Some people prefer to have a stylist introduce them to new things.  I appreciate that, but after two dud boxes from Stitch Fix (and money wasted!), I like the idea of picking some things out myself.  (note: I hear that sometimes it takes switching stylists at Stitch Fix to find a good match--they offered me a box with the $20 styling fee waved, but I haven't taken them up on it.)

Note: Amazon Prime Wardrobe is for Prime Members only and the benefits do not transfer to "household members" of your prime membership.  I found this to be a little annoying that I needed to use Joe's sign in (mainly because it was a hassle to get his password from his super-secret external HD), but in the end the process was easy.

Benefits of Amazon Prime Wardrobe

  1. You choose what goes in your box--a minimum of three items.
  2. Because you choose, there is no styling fee unlike other wardrobe subscription boxes.
  3. You can select men, women, baby, kids, shoes, accessories--whatever you want!  Talk about flexibility :)
  4. You have SEVEN days to wear and decide on what you want to keep.  You are only charged with what you keep.  You send back what you don't want.
Amazon Prime Wardrobe Benefits

Amazon Fashion History

In order for Amazon to be the #1 retailer in the world they need to conquer the fashion and grocery industries.  Hence the Whole Foods acquisition and fashion push in the past few years:

"Amazon Fashion is a one-stop destination for head-to-toe style. From tried-and-true heritage brands like Levi’s and Calvin Klein to contemporary designers Rachel Zoe and Hugo Boss, Amazon Fashion can be counted on to have options for just about every need. In true Amazon style, trying things on–and sending them back–is easy with free shipping and free returns on eligible items."

Amazon Fashion boasts popular brands such as:

  • 7 For All Mankind
  • adidas
  • Michael Kors
  • Carter’s
  • Dockers
  • Tommy Hilfiger
  • kate spade new york
  • New Balance
  • Steve Madden

And "hundreds more" making Amazon Fashion a force to be reckoned with.  They also boast providing options for people with special size needs which will save you so much time.  In true Amazon fashion (pun intended LOL), they are quickly moving to achieve their goals.  In 2017 their Amazon exclusive private labels generated over $21 million (source).

Amazon Prime Membership

I am the epitome of what Amazon was hoping to create when they started the Amazon Prime program.  I'm addicted.  My husband and kids are also addicted.  If it's not offered with Prime shipping, I hesitate to buy it!

“Amazon Prime is the engine that drives Amazon,” he explains. “It capitalizes on irrational human behavior, where people are maximizing their membership. The whole point of getting people to sign up is for them to always be on the Amazon site, buying more.” --Brad Stone, The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon (source)

Knowing that I played into their every move doesn't change the fact that I can't imagine a life without 2-day Amazon Prime Shipping.  #addicted

I remember way back in the late '90s when my friends and I had a saying, "all roads lead to Amazon" because it seemed like any time we searched for a product online, Amazon had it!  And at the best price...so they started us young ;)

Another reason I'm a loyal Amazon Prime member is because of a few hard to find items in my local grocery store and Target.

One experience in particular stands out to me: I love Trader Joe's, but they don't always have my favorite products in stock.  I really like their unsweetened roasted plantain chips and on a whim, I searched for them on Amazon.

Low and behold they sell the Trader Joe's brand in a three pack.  Hook.Line.Sinker.  Sign me up forever LOL (Trader Joe's is not convenient to me, so this is a dream!)

Amazon Fashion's in-house private label brands are seriously worth a look!  You're already shopping on Amazon, so why not try out some of their clothes--especially with their Amazon Prime Wardrobe box service.  Budget friendly, stylish clothing lines delivered to your door!!  :)  #over40fashion #over40 #amazonfinds
